PORTHLEVEN'S Fore Street Methodist Chapel paid tribute to the soldiers of the Great War with a commemorative exhibition called 'A Day to Remember.
Beginning at the chapel on Monday and continuing until today (Wednesday), the exhibition was organised by members of the chapel and contains photos of relatives of who took part in World War One, alongside artefacts and information researched by Rita Collier on the men who are listed on Porthleven's War Memorial.
Porthleven Town Council provided a grant that enabled organisers Mrs Collier and her husband Carol, along with men from the village, to restore 19 graves of Porthleven men who lost their lives in the conflict and whom are mentioned on headstones in Porthleven Cemetery.
On Monday morning a red rose was placed on each of the graves, which were identified with a small Union Flag. Visitors were able to collect a map from the chapel indicating the positions of the graves, to enable them to pay their respects.
The exhibition remains open today between 10am and 4pm.
