An 18-year-old woman is no longer in a life threatening condition after being involved in a collision in Helston last Thursday afternoon.

The teenager, who was airlifted to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro, is now reported to be conscious, and police said her injuries are “no longer considered life threatening.”

Police said the teenager, who was a pedestrian, is believed to have hit the bonnet of a green Skoda Octavia registered to Helston, at 2.55pm.

The female driver was said to be in “an extreme state of shock.”

Cornwall air ambulance landed at |Helston Cricket Club, close to the scene |of the incident on the junction |between Trengrouse Way and Clodgey Lane. It flew the teenager to hospital |and a police spokesperson said her condition at the time was “life threatening.”

A person with the teenager followed behind to hospital in a land ambulance.

Trengrouse Way was closed in both directions between Clodgey Lane and The Parade due to the incident.

Police say they are not treating the incident as suspicious.
