Fundraisers in Helston are flying high after a joint effort between RNAS Culdrose and the town’s branch of Santander.
An event for members and relatives of personnel of 829 Squadron was held at the naval base, with money from a raffle going to the Little Harbour children’s hospice at St Austell.
The event raised an impressive £550, which was then match funded by Santander to create a grand total of £1,100.
Bank worker Deborah Pinniger, whose husband Sean is a chief petty officer at Culdrose, said: “If there are charity events we can get involved with, we can use our match donation.”
Any charities or groups interested can get more information from the Santander branch in Meneage Street.
