Acting on behalf of Joint Administrators Hamish Adam & Giles Frampton of Richard J Smith & Co, specialist property adviser Christie + Co has successfully sold Poldark Mine, one of Cornwall's most famous and long-running tourist attractions.
The 18th century mining attraction, which is situated within the Wendron District of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site, has been sold to an experienced leisure operator for an undisclosed sum off a guide price of £350,000.
The iconic touriust attraction entered administration in March of 2014 following a downturn in visitor numbers. Set over three acres, the site includes an extensive visitor car park and substantial owner's accommodation.
Matthew Smith, Director of Christie + Co's Exeter office comments: “As a result of our comprehensive marketing campaign we generated considerable interest in this unique opportunity and generated a number of offers resulting in a sale to an experienced operator.
"Interest in the site was high - boosted by the fact the BBC is making a new drama series in Poldark, which is set to broadcast on BBC One in 2015.”
