A weapons amnesty has seen a raft of shotguns, pistols and even a Tazer handed in to police in Cornwall.
Devon and Cornwall Police say that 27 shotguns, seven rifles, 18 air guns, three BB guns, four flares, a Tazer, and ammunition has already been handed in, with a week of the amnesty still to run.
A police spokesman said: “We have had a considerable amount of items handed in to police throughout Devon and Cornwall during the first week of the amnesty.
“We still have another week and would ask any member of the public with anything they think may need to be handed into police to do so.
“Any police enquiry office will take weapons and hold them safely before they are taken to the Force armoury.
“If anyone has any uncertain about the legality of a weapon or ammunition they possess, we would urge them to hand it in.”
