There was a natural start to Christmas at a craft fair held on the Lizard Peninsula.

The Natural Cornish Christmas event took place at Cornish Camels, on Rosuick Farm near Goonhilly, organised by three friends Elle Parsons, Joey Clifton and Amy Nicholson.

It featured stalls from independent crafts in the area, the majority of which were from the Lizard Peninsula, selling a range of gifts, jewellery and Christmas decorations. The day was well supported, with an estimated 300 people over the five hour event.

Not only could people look around the stalls, but also visit Father Christmas in his grotto, where he was handing out craft projects to children.

Music was provided by Tom Briggs and Tayla Beale and the farm was open to look around, including the chance to meet the famous camels.

The entire event was held to raise money for St Petroc’s, which supports homeless people – and is particularly busy in the run up to Christmas.

Co-organiser Joey said: “We just think St Petroc’s is a charity that does really valuable work and we wanted to support them. Hopefully there will be another one next year.”

More than £200 was raised on the day and this total is expected to go up, as the organisers are still waiting for some funds to come in, including the donations for the National Trust’s wreath making sessions.

Falmouth Packet:

She said Cornish Camels was chosen because it was “just a fantastic venue, with lots of space and things for people to do.”

“A massive thanks to everybody that came and everybody who helped,” added Joey.
