There was good support for the switching on of Gweek’s Christmas lights display on Sunday.
All ages of the community turned out for the event, which took place on a dry but cold night. Pulling the switch to illuminate the village was Alec Robertson, landlord of the Black Swan pub. He was helped with the task by little Suzanna.
Members of Gweek Silver Band added to the festive atmosphere by playing carols and other seasonal tunes, and mulled wine was served to keep people warm.
Father Christmas put in an appearance. He was ccompanied by his wife, Mrs Christmas, who handed out a selection of sweets to the excited children.
