There were two special visitors to Parc Eglos School last Friday when the primary held its Christmas fair.

Father Christmas paid a visit along with a couple of helpers, who gave out gifts to the children in a specially created grotto, and there was also a visit from Flambards’ mascot Ferdi.

The school was filled with things to do, with a variety of games offering the chance to win a teddy, eat doughnuts on a string and drop pennies to win a prize.

There was also a variety of stalls and |one room was set up as a cafe, serving refreshments.

In total the event raised more than £600 for school funds.

Headteacher Brett Dye said: “It went really well – it was very busy. There were lots of challenges around the place that the children enjoyed.”

The event was organised by the school’s parent teacher association, led by Sally Tostdevine.

Mr Dye gave special thanks to Tony Flint and Michelle Green for their “fantastic efforts” in running the raffle and other activities, and to Gemma Priest who arranged for the visits from Santa and Ferdi.

“Santa’s grotto looked absolutely fantastic and many thanks to the Priest family for all their support in setting it up,” he said.

Mr Dye gave a final thanks to all the parents that went along to support the event.
