A SIX-FOOT teddy bear from Harrods and giant baubles were among spellbinding attractions at Porthleven Primary School’s Christmas fair.
Young visitors to a special Santa’s grotto were delighted with the oversized decorations, as well as with Father Christmas himself, who greeted them with gifts.
Also at the event were a variety of games for visitors of all ages to enjoy, with the emphasis of this event on family festive fun.
There was a steady flow of people throughout the four-hour fair, organised by the school’s parent teacher association. The event made a profit of £800 which will go towards the school’s ongoing “big plans.”
The first stage, a new playground, is already completed and now the school is raising money for a multi-use games area.
Leigh Yates, chairman of the PTA, thanked Harrods and toy and gift company Puckator who sponsored the grotto, Interserve for also supporting the event and local businesses for getting involved.
Every teacher at the school also took time out of their weekend to support the event.
Leigh said: “It was lovely to see multi generations of families enjoying festive fun. We had amazing support from the school and it was good fun. The kids really enjoyed it. They walked in and went ‘wow’ when they saw the decorations and grotto.”
