Their job may be to spruce up people’s outfits, but the last thing a firm with a Helston branch wants to do is take people to the cleaners.
That is why national dry cleaning chain Timpson, which has a branch in the town’s Tesco supermarket, is offering free dry cleaning to the unemployed.
The company released an advert saying: “If you are unemployed and need an outfit cleaned for |an interview we will clean |it for free. When times are |tough, we will help you look your best.”
To qualify people must take with them their Jobcentre log book and a letter inviting them to an interview.
The somewhat appropriately named Sarah Gallant, manager of the Helston Tesco Timpson, said: “People that aren’t working, they’re struggling for cash – they don’t want to be worrying about what they look like for an interview.”
