A campaign has been launched to help develop a community garden near Helston.

The Cornish Cutting Garden, based in the hamlet of Releath, was founded by qualified florist and garden designer Clare Webb.

Currently she and her small team supply flower arrangements for weddings and events, as well as offering a range of workshops and courses for adults and work experience for vulnerable people.

Now she hopes to improve the building in order to run more workshops and open the garden to the public. To do this a campaign has been launched at Crowdfunder Cornwall.

During February and March this year, the garden will be working with adult education charity the Workers’ Educational Association in Cornwall to provide courses for adults.

‘Celebrating the Seasons - Spring Garden’ will offer the opportunity to learn basic soil management and plant propagation techniques, with hands on tuition.

The course starts on Saturday, February 28, from 10am to 1pm, and runs for four weeks. Pre booking is essential. For more information call 01872 320036 or to enrol call 01392457300; alternatively visit www.wea.org.uk WEA courses are free to those on means |tested benefits.
