People parking at Cornwall Council car parks without the correct change have long had to suffer paying more than they should, but with news that a Devon council could hand over the extra to charity, should Cornwall do the same?
A council leader on Torridge District Council says that the £40,000 a year pocketed by the council from overpayments because machines at its 22 car parks do not give change should go to good causes such as the Citizens Advice Bureau and women's refuges.
Cornwall Council trousers £300,000 a year extra because its parking machines do not give change.
