Pupils at St Michael’s Primary School in Helston can be forgiven for feeling flushed with success after their Red Nose Day fundraising amounted to an impressive £1,254 in total.

Pupils made their “faces funny for money” – the event’s theme this year – by donning silly glasses, noses and moustaches, and also wore non uniform.

This collected £415.55, which was matched funded by Santander to make a total of £831.10.

The sale of red noses in school that day took a further £423.

A spokesperson for the school said: “They all had a great time.”
