The people of Porthleven are being urged to get involved with the creation of its neighbourhood plan which will help determine how the area will develop over the next 20 to 30 years.

Town councillor Alan Jorgensen, has told residents: “The Neighbourhood Plan team are proud to live in Porthleven and with your help we want to create a community and village that we are all proud to live in both now and in the future.

“I think it is of the utmost importance that local residents have a real say in shaping their village. Porthleven residents who are users of the village know what they want and we want to hear what this is. Fishermen, shop-owners, dog-walkers, estate owners, farmers, school teachers, parents, retired - even younger people - all hold local knowledge that is useful - if not essential - in planning the future of our town. We want to know what you are thinking.”

People are being encouraged to complete a questionnaire which is being sent to all homes and to return it to the Post Office, or using the freepost envelope supplied.

Alternatively, it can be completed online at www.porthlevenplan.org.uk. The deadline for completing the questionnaire is May 30.

“We want to know what you are thinking,” said Mr Jorgensen. “Help us now in realising your vision for the future.”
