Congratulations have been paid to all of the children who represented Landewednack School during the recent cross country season.
The school achieved “great success” again with four individual medals being presented to Amy Jane, in year four, who finished in bronze position overall in her year group; Ethan Walters, also year four, who took gold; Kian Roberts, year three, who also took gold and James Atkinson, from year five who finished with a bronze medal.
“A special mention must go to Kian Roberts who is only in year three,” said a school spokesman. “Kian was presented with a medal for achieving over 500 league points during the season - in fact Kian won every race that he ran in, beating not only boys in year three but also those in year four.”
The school was also presented with over 25 endurance medals, awarded to children who have run at least five out of the six league courses.
“The children were also delighted to be presented with the plaque for Weighted Points - Runners Up, which for a smaller school is a fantastic achievement - especially as we won this last year and were able to bring the plaque back to Landewednack,” added the spokesman.
Headteacher Louise Jones has congratulated all the children and said how she and staff at the school were so proud of their achievements.
