THE Top House Inn at The Lizard was the venue for a fund raising auction of promises held in aid of The Lizard Lifeboat.

Organised by members of the fundraising committee, the event was hailed as a resounding success with over £2,000 being raised during the evening. Auctioneers on the night were deputy launch authority, Mike Pamphilon, and former lifeboat crew member and Cadgwith fisherman, John Trewin.

The lots on offer included meals out, activity and adventure days, ingredients for a roast meal, pictures donated by local artists and even a cake baked every month for a year.

The fundraising committee have thanked everyone who donated an auction lot, stating the generosity of villagers and local businesses was "as overwhelming as ever." Thanks also went to James and Donna Glosby from the Top House Inn for hosting the evening.
