Children from Germoe School had a rip-roaring time recently as they 'wore it wild' to help save endangered animals.
The pupils spent the day dressed up as different creatures as part of the World Wide Fund for Nature's (WWF) national Wear it Wild campaign, and raised £23 for the nature charity.
Jan Burns, the school's head of teaching and learning, said: "The children came in wearing costumes of animals, preferably endangered species: lions, tigers, turtles, which was nice."
The school took day as an opportunity to teach the children about environmental issues such as habitat and recycling, and enjoyed some time spent out in the forest, with teachers dressed as animals telling them about the problems that faced them.
Jan said: "It was fantastic. We had a really good day," and added, "the children got a lot out of it."
The school decided to take part in the campaign after they learned about it from pupil Katie Davies.
Katie adopts animals through a WWF scheme, last year she adopted a leopard, and this year she has adopted a tiger, and learned about Wear it Wild Day through her connection to the charity.
