A commemorative bench to a much loved character and grandad figure has been unveiled at Cury CofE VA Primary school.
The has been made by Tom Kemp and designed by pupils and teachers at the school. It has been placed outside their new outdoor classroom located near the garden area.
Brian Forbes, was a well-loved helper and granddad figure to the school family who passed away in November 2014, leaving the school deeply saddened.
"Grandad" was mainly involved with helping the boys at the school’s weekly swimming session. His grandson Jack attends the school now and Ben, his brother was a past pupil.
Head Teacher, Lisa Newberry said: "He was very popular, always had a smile on his face and loved by all the children."
His bench was paid for from his retiring collection and has been made to offer some comfort to all at the school. It offers a place for all involved with the school to sit, talk and reflect."
