Not one but three nights of comedy were performed by Ruan Revellers to packed houses at the Ruan Minor Village Hall earlier this month.

The troupe performed two one-act plays each night from June 10 to 12: The Dear Departed, by W.S.Haughton, set in a Northern town in the Edwardian era, and All Right on the Night, by S.W.James, a play for seven women.

They also performed two comic sketches, The List and The Audition, written and performed by the cast, one of which featured a Poldark connection, while the other had a dig at health and safety legislation.

Ruan Revellers' Brian Jenkins said "We had lots of fun, and judging by the response on all three nights, so did the audience.

“Well it’s how you tell ‘em”.

Ruan Revellers continues to build on its success over the last two years, directed by Angela Agutter, assisted by Wendy Elliott.

The group has now staged a pantomime, a one-act piece by Noel Coward, a puppet nativity play and two choral events. The cast and wider group vary in age from the young to not so young with the oldest actor being over 80. Anyone interested in joining the revellers for further events should contact Wendy Elliott on 01326 290432.
