A fantastic time was had by all at Halwin School last week when it celebrated the wealth of sporting opportunities offered at the small, rural, primary school, with a sunshine-filled sports day.
Halwin School, which is part of the Southerly Point Cooperative Education Trust, has 81% of its pupils taking the opportunity to participate in extra curricular sports .
Headteacher, Vicky Sanderson said: "We were thrilled to be able to share with our community a fantastic sports day which started with a hip hop inspired opening ceremony.
"Here at Halwin we have worked hard to offer our children a wide variety of sporting experiences, with all of our KS2 children taking part in coasteering, kayaking and SUP during the summer term.
"This year we have also been able to offer all of our pupils the opportunity to work with a contemporary dance specialist, football and netball coaches and a specialist gymnastics teacher.
"This week sees the start of our sport week with children having the o pportunity to try fencing, brush up on their skating and scootering skills at a mobile SK8 park and dance themselves fit with Zumba classes. We are really looking forward to it and are sure that our children will take a great deal from these sporting experiences."
