Flambards have been awarded a special certificate from the Rotary Club of Helston for 25 years of continued support for ‘Kids Out.’

The annual event is hosted by the theme park and sees children from disadvantaged families visit for a fun-filled day with their carers and Rotary Club volunteers. Last month saw 125 children and their carers enjoy a day out at the park for free.

Manager, Richard Smith, said: “We are proud to have supported the Kids Out event for 25 years and are pleased to continue to help this excellent charity in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Helston.

“We feel it’s important to support the community and continuing to invite the Rotary clubs to bring the children along every June is as much a pleasure for us as it seems to be to them. We’re already looking forward to next year’s visit.”

Benny Vleminickx, president of Helston Rotary Club, added: “We had as much fun as the children. It was a wonderful day at Flambards and we are looking forward to returning.”

As well as the 12 Rotary Clubs and Flambards’ contributions, the day was made possible with a grant of £500 from HSBC Bank, which helped to cover the cost of cameras, the hats, t-shirts, lunch and transport.

Kids Out gives disadvantaged children positive experiences to support them becoming future members of our society and workforce.
