St Michaels School in Helston recently held their summer fair raising money to buy new reading books for each year group to increase the diversity of material available to students.
The fair was a overwhelming success thanks, in part, to the "outstanding" from parents and teachers. There was a host of stalls, activities and events occurring throughout the day including balloon modelling, a plant stall, soak the teacher, a cake stall, a raffle, beat the goalie, wellie tossing, and a chocolate tombola, said to be very popular with the children.
The year six children demonstrated their entrepreneurial, setting up their own stalls to help raise money, with teachers helping them. The attendance was "fantastic" and a grand total of £1,000.71 was raised to go towards the new books.
