Helston Community Hospital opened its doors to local residents and former patients for its annual summer fete and open day last week.
Organised with the support of the hospital's League of Friends, the fete was opened by Dr Rodd Smith and attended by the mayor and mayoress of Helston, Mike and Briege Thomas. The event offered a variety of stalls, including cakes and bric-a-brac, a tombola and a range of food and refreshments,
By the end of the day, £1,460, most of which will be used for many of the hospital's on going needs such as replacement of patients' special mattresses, high backed dining chairs, resources for hospital staff and wheelchairs.
