Spring tides have sparked a warning of flooding for tomorrow (Wednesday) evening for the south coast of Cornwall east from the Lizard point.
The Environment Agency issued a flood alert covering the coast from the Lizard to Gribbin Head including Penryn, Flushing, and St Mawes as well as the rivers Helford and Fal, but not including Truro.
The agency said: "Large spring tides are predicted for Wednesday 30 September's evening tide.
"The forecast is for a force six easterly wind and two metre waves but with minimal surge.
"Spray overtopping is possible at exposed coastal locations and there is a risk of flooding at the edge of quays and adjacent low lying car parks and roads."
