The Premier Inn hotel on Clodgey Lane in Helston could more than double its number of rooms according to a pre-application submitted to Cornwall Council.
The company is seeking pre-planning advice on a 66 bedroom extension to the existing 50 bedroom hotel, following an earlier pre-application for a 32 room extension.
Premier Inn's agent, Walsingham Planning, is seeking advice on the principle of the extension, which would include additional parking, and has said if the application is improved the company would hope to start work before the end of the year, to be completed before February 2016.
Following the previous pre-application, the company said: "Negotiations with the neighbouring landowner have forced Premier Inn to acquire more land than was required for that original scheme. As a result, Premier Inn are now considering a much larger 66 bedroom extension that will make full use of the land."
