Trannack School's new outdoor area was the star of the show at a recent early years and foundation stage open day.

Parents of prospective pupils and their children, aged three or four, visited the school to enjoy a variety of activities such as making bird feeders, cereal decorations, painting pictures, or listening to storytelling in the open air.

The open day was open to any children from the community who might be joining the school next year as part of the pre-reception Little Learners class or as a reception pupil.

Head teacher Emma Stritt said: "We wanted to have an opportunity to show the children using the outdoor space, and we were able to show the parents around the school.

"It was a good opportunity for prospective parents and families to see how we use our indoor and outdoor space."
