The ladies of Gweek Wednesday Club have been knitting hard in their efforts to create a centenary tribute to those who lost their lives in the First World War.
Last week the club held an exhibition of poppies that its members have created as part of a long term project which will continue until the anniversary of the end of the First World War in November 2018.
At that time the poppies will be displayed on the alter, down the aisle and it is hoped they will even reach out of the door.
Club member Jan Spoor said: "It will be Gweek's version of the Tower of London.
"The idea is to celebrate 2018 when the terrible war ended."
