Reported crime in Helston fell in October from by 32 per cent compared to the same time last year.
The town council received a report from PC Anne Butcher which said 21 crimes were reported last month compared to 35 over the same period in 2014.
the report also stated that there had been a general trend throughout Cornwall of theft from shops, and Helston had seen a slight increase of this type of crime, but four out of the six reported incidents had "positive outcome."
PC Butcher said: "Hallowe'en and bonfire night passed without any reported incidents. Neighbourhood team are now preparing for Christmas events and will be promoting Christmas drink-drive and anti theft campaigns."
Members of the public wishing to contact the neighbourhood team should do so via 101 or by calling 01326 555 158 or emailing helston@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk
