Barrels of used cooking oil have been found dumped in the carpark of Porthleven Cricket Club.
Writing on the Porthleven Facebook page, town warden Rod Barnes warned: "Whoever keeps leaving drums of old cooking oil at the cricket club car park, Porthleven council ask you to cease. This is flytipping and steps have been made to catch you.
"Once caught you will be prosecuted. You have been warned."
Town clerk Corrie Thompson confirmed that barrels had been dumped on roughly five occasions and Cornwall Council had been informed, and was now monitoring. The authority has the power to fine anyone proven to be flytipping.
