Helston's newest dental practice will provide NHS places for more than 4,000 patients, according to NHS England.
Last week the Helston Packet revealed that Smile Dental Care had taken over the former Miller Countrywide estate agency premises in Meneage Street and was due to open shortly.
NHS England has now confirmed that the practice began treating patients in and around Helston on Monday this week.
Smile Dental Care already has a number of other NHS practices throughout the UK and won the new contract after a recent tender.
The practice will be fully computerised, including digital x-rays.
Dr Pip Dhariwal, clinical director for Smile Dental Care, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for Smile Dental Care and we look forward to working with NHS England to provide NHS dentistry to residents of Helston and the surrounding area.”
Anyone wanting to join the new Helston practice will need to contact the NHS Dental helpline on 03330 063 300 or email accessdentalhelpline@nhs.net providing their full name, address, date of birth and telephone number.
Patients with an urgent need, who do not currently have a dentist, can contact PCH Dental Ltd on 01872 354375 or the dental helpline 03330 063 300.
