Young pupils of Parc Eglos Primary School are looking to broaden their horizons with the help of two helium balloons and residents of Helston and the surrounding area.
Children in year two launched their new topic The Big, Wide, Wonderful World quite literally last week, when they sent two balloons floating off into the blue summer sky.
The youngsters are going to be learning about countries around the world, looking at their location Helston in comparison to different cultures.
To begin the topic the pupils of the Smarties and the Dragonflies classes set off two balloons with messages attached, in the hope that someone might find them.
The labels read: "Hello, we are at Parc Eglos School and we want to know where our balloon lands.
"If you find our balloon please can you send it back and tell us when and where you found it?" They also included the school address.
All the children then made guesses about where they think the balloons might end up and are now excitedly watching the post each day to see if anyone has returned their balloons.
A spokesperson for the school said: "If anyone should come across a green luggage tag attached to a balloon, please return a message to the very eager year two children."
