Keen cyclists will be taking to the roads of west Cornwall on Sunday for the Land’s End 100 Sportive organised by Tempus Leisure.

Now in its sixth year, the challenging but picturesque event offers a choice of three routes of varying distances, each of them taking in some of Cornwall’s most stunning scenery.

Riders can opt for a 75km route, 100km route, or the full 100 miles, with all routes starting and finishing at Folly Field in Marazion and heading to Land’s End, with the longest route also making its way around the Lizard peninsula.

Online registration closed on Sunday, September25, but riders can still enter on Saturday, October 1 between 12pm and 2pm at Helston Sports Centre, or Sunday, October 2, from 6.30am until 8.30am at The Godolphin Arms in Marazion.

Ceri Harvey, community leisure events manager at Tempus Leisure, said: “The Land’s End 100 is a hugely popular event, combining challenging terrain with a stunning location, quiet roads and breathtaking views. Over the last six years it has become a real highlight in the cycling calendar, and the choice of distance means that it can be enjoyed by riders of varied ability.”

Tempus is also warning local road users that there will be an increased number of cyclists on the road throughout Sunday morning.
