There was nautical naughtiness in Porthleven this weekend as the Ram Race returned for another year of mayhem.

Spectators were treated to divine delights and devilish displays as six teams took to the harbour for the race, which this year followed the theme of Port Heaven.

The event - a combination of more usual pram and raft races - saw the participants rush their amphibious vehicles through the streets before taking to the water.

But potential underhand tactic came into play as, once out in the harbour, crews began pelting each other with flour bombs.

Event organiser Suzanne Williams said: "It was a really good day, really good fun as usual and a nice community event.

"The weather was awesome, it couldn't have been better, and it was busy down there."

The race on by the Dark Angels team - Steve, Chris and Matthew Williams - who beat five other groups to claim the crown.

As well as being a fun community day, the ram race is a fundraising event, and this year it was raising money for a new Porthleven-based charity called the Sparkle Foundation.

Suzanne added: "It has just started in the village to help people in times of hardship - if somebody struggles getting to hospital or paying bills.

"We are trying to raise enough money to get it to charity status."
