RGB Building Supplies, which has a branch in Porthleven, has reopened its Well Built Community Fund and is appealing for schools that support those with additional needs to get in touch and explain how a donation of £1,000 worth of building materials would help complete a project.

Whether a school would like to create a new outdoor space, complete essential repairs or give their building a spruce up with a lick of paint, RGB would like to hear from them.

The Community Fund sees RGB donate £1,000 worth of building materials every other month to a different group. There will be further donations made in the coming months to a local library and a group that forms part of the scouting movement.

Lee Atkinson, branch manager at RGB Porthleven, said: “This year we have already donated £1,000 worth of materials to a heritage project, a community centre and an amateur dramatics group. The fund is our way of giving something back to the local areas that have supported us throughout our 160-year history and we look forward to hearing from schools detailing how we could help with their project.”

Schools can nominate themselves by emailing RGB@pmwcom.co.uk explaining what they would use the materials for. Nominations can also be made by sending a letter to RGB Community Fund, c/o PMW Communications, PO Box 167, Bideford, Devon, EX39 9DU. The closing date for nominations is midnight on Sunday, October 23.

From all the nominations received, RGB will narrow it down to three and then ask the local community to vote for the school they would like to receive the £1,000 worth of materials.
