Helston children's clothing brand Frugi is hoping to conquer Europe next year and has created a new role to help see this happen.

The company, which was founded near St Martin and is now based out of the Water-Ma-Trout industrial estate in Helston, has appointed its first commercial director in the form of Caroline Flood.

Caroline joins the team from Cath Kidston, where she was head of wholesale and had full accountability for profit and loss for the UK and European wholesale side of the business. She was also responsible for bringing in new business, as well as growing sales with its existing customer base.

She brings with her a wealth of experience which spans more than 15 years, having also worked for big businesses including Lancôme, CARGO Cosmetics Corporation and Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd.

The new role will see Caroline focussing on growing sales and will also be an key part of the marketing and design teams, to ensure continuity throughout.

During Caroline’s career she has successfully brought on board several large European retailers for her former companies and she hopes to use this experience in helping Frugi expand into Europe, which is one of its key goals for 2017.

Caroline said: “I am excited to join Frugi because I really believe in our founders’ vision that you can create a great brand whilst upholding strong environmental and socially beneficial beliefs.

“Frugi may have green genes, but it’s also a brand that embraces innovation and having a history of growing at a consistently fast rate, it’s certainly going to be an exciting place to work."

Welcoming Caroline to the team, Lucy Jewson, managing director and co-founder, said: “Her appointment is a new role at Frugi HQ and is sure to provide invaluable support as we continue to build relationships here in the UK, as well as with retailers across the world."
