A collection of old photographs and interviews will be presented in Helston next week looking back at a time when Helston County Secondary School was still open.

Former pupils teachers of the Green School, as it was known due to the colour of its uniforms, are being invited back to 3 Penrose Road on Thursday, December 8 from 7pm.

CAST, which now manages the building as a series of artist studios and a centre for arts events, will be celebrating the results of a project it has been running with oral history company Azook, making copies of school photographs, reports and other documents brought in by former pupils between 1960 and 1972, and recording interviews and stories to be shared through the online archive cornishmemory.com.

Next week's event will bring together much of what has been recorded, with radio journalist David George presenting an hour-long compilation at 7.30pm.

Afterwards there will be refreshments and time to chat about what has been shown.

Family members are also welcome to attend and booking is advisable, as the capacity of the hall is limited.
