There will be no change to rubbish and recycling collections over the Christmas period for people living in the Helston area.
With Christmas Day falling on a Sunday this year, which never has a collection anyway, the only affected days will be collections falling on Boxing Day, the Monday.
Anyone due to have rubbish or clinical waste collected on that day will instead see these collections on Monday, January 2 while recycling or garden waste will be taken on Saturday, December 31 instead.
All Household Waste and Recycling Centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day also.
Real Christmas trees will once again be collected, shredded and composted for free and must be put out on the normal rubbish collection day, on the opposite week to the recycling collection - either January 9 or 16.
Christmas cards and flattened boxes can be put in the cardboard recycling bag, along with brown and coloured envelopes, while white envelopes can be put in the paper recycling bag along with wrapping paper not coated with foil or plastic, sticky tape, string and ribbons removed.
