It looked at one point as though the Christmas stories of Manaccan Primary School pupils were not to be told after their first magazine almost missed its delivery date.

That is until Helston printing company Brewers stepped in as shining stars and led the way to a happy ending.

The rollercoaster journey began just after the half term break, when Viki Carpenter began running a magazine club at the school her son Jem attends.

Some of the children put their first 16-page edition of the Manaccan Monthly together in time for Christmas, interviewing teachers, choosing pictures, designing the pages and filling it with articles they had written.

A week before the end of the school term, 50 copies were ordered via an online print company.

However, on the day the delivery was due the school received an email to say there had been a problem with the upload and there was now no room at the printing centre.

In desperation, Viki's husband sent an email to the Martin Luck Group, incorporating Brewers, at Water-ma-Trout, begging them to see if they could fit the school in.

As soon as the business opened, Adam received a call from print manager Andrew Songhurst asking for the file to be sent over and he would get printing that morning - just in time for them to be ready to be picked up that afternoon, on the very last day of term.

Not only that, Adam said he was gifting the magazines to the school, free of charge.

It meant that later that day the school was told the good news, that a safe delivery had been made of their magazine.
