As thoughts look ahead to this year’s events calendar in Ruan Minor a nostalgic review of 2016 is taking place this Friday.
A double bill film evening is taking place at Ruan Minor Chapel from 7pm until around 10.30pm, with refreshments in the interval.
The evening will feature showings of two of the village’s productions last year: Wild West ‘pantomime’ A Bad Day at Black Frog Creek performed by the Ruan Revellers in February and The Murder of the Black Cat, a murder mystery evening in May that involved Inspector Le Clue helping guests to a three-course dinner work out who murdered the famous mime artiste The Black Cat.
Both events were filmed, edited and have now been copied onto DVDs, which will be available to buy or order on the night.
Although there is no cost for the evening, donations will be taken towards the ongoing preservation of the village’s two historic church buildings, through the registered charity The Friends of St Ruan and St Grade Historic Church Buildings.
Following the review of the year, attention will then turn to the 2017 line up, which includes the Ruan Revellers Variety Evening taking place on Thursday, February 16 through to Saturday, February 18 in the village hall. This will include a short, one-act play called A Rogue in a Bed.
