Four local families have been handed the keys to their new homes at Trelawney Road in Helston, thanks to a regeneration project by local landlord Coastline Housing.

Coastline secured funding from the Homes and Communities Agency to demolish a block of 17 dilapidated garages and build four new two-bedroom homes in their place, each with two allocated parking spaces.

Matt Ward, head of development at Coastline Housing, said: “This brownfield site in the middle of Helston had become quite run down. We were thrilled to be given the opportunity to transform it and build more much-needed housing for local people.

“Last year when the development started, there were 446 households on the waiting list in Helston for a one or two bedroom home, so the town council was happy to give us full support for this transformation from the start.”

The properties have now been allocated to their new residents and have been named Trelawney Mews.
