Four months of roadworks will begin on the main road out of Helston this Monday as work starts on a major housing development.
Junction works are being carried out at Rowe's Lane, just before Trewennack on the main Helston to Falmouth road, as part of preparations for the HX1 housing site.
Developers D2 Planning have planning permission to build 450 homes there - of which 30 per cent will be classed as "affordable" - as well as offices and a health centre.
Changes to the road layout will be the first step towards the houses then going up on the adjacent agricultural land.
CORMAC Contracting has said work is due to continue until July 24, right up to the start of the school summer holidays.
During this time two-way traffic lights will be in operation, although a spokesperson said: "The use of these will be kept to a minimum to keep traffic flowing."
Once work starts, information about the roadworks can be found online at roadworks.org using reference UF999CZ99944907.
