An entire van's worth of rubbish was collected at two of Gunwalloe's beaches in a single day last week.
Penrose National Trust organised a clean up of Fishing Cove and Church Cove, which was carried out by volunteers.
Posting a picture of a Trust pick up van brimming with bags of litter, the team thanked the "amazing" volunteers for their efforts, adding: "Quite the haul today. Well done gang."
The clean up came just days after one concerned beach user posted a photo on Twitter of what he described as "devastating plastic waste" at Fishing Cove.
Regular beachgoer Daniel Roberts, a small boat owner who lists spear fishing among his interests, added: "This must be addressed."
His photo shows just a small area of sand at Fishing Cove littered with dozens of plastic bottles.
It is thought the recent bad weather may have exacerbated the amount of litter washing ashore, which is already a problem on the two beaches. Maritime rubbish such as netting and rope is also a particular issue.
