Residents of Trengrouse nursing home, part of Cornwall Care, gathered to remember their youth as they celebrated Dame Vera Lynn's 100th Birthday.
Around 20 residents of the care home were in attendance of the event, which saw singer Kate Ferguson, from Plymouth, entertain the crowd.
There was also DVDs of films from the era and war documentaries playing in several rooms, with classic hits from the 40s and 50s played in the intermission.
Kim Cass, customer relations administrator at Trengrouse, said: "It went really well. It was something we really take to heart, as being in Helston we're near a Naval base, and we have some residents who were in the military.
"It's something that we wanted to do for our residents.
"There were a few tears, it was nice.
"Our singer travelled from Plymouth after we found her online.
"We had an all day buffet with people helping themselves to food and drink, we had music playing and DVDs of the era.
"Our residents enjoyed it and we had family members in attendance too."
