Helston children’s clothing company Frugi is celebrating a healthy success after winning not one but two regional awards.

Not only was the Water-ma-Trout business awarded silver at the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Workplace Health Awards, but its managing director Tracy Carroll was also crowned workplace health champion of the year following an assessment by Cornwall Council.

Staff benefit from initiatives such as the Frugi Fun Committee, a dedicated team in charge of organising activities charitable events, a “bring your kids to work” day and activities such as beach games, theatre trips and lunchtime yoga to make sure everyone stays happy.

The team are now working towards the gold standard award over the course of this year.

Tracy said: “We are extremely proud that our pledge to creating a healthy work environment at Planet Frugi has been recognised. It’s our employees that have made Frugi the huge success that it is today, so ensuring they are happy at work is very important to us.

“We have lots of lovely activities planned for our staff this year including massages, mindfulness sessions, afternoon wildlife walks, picnics and even surfing lessons, so we hope that all our employees will agree that Frugi is a truly lovely place to work.”
