A motorcyclist is fighting for his life after being involved in a three vehicle collision on Saturday evening, suffering life-threatening injuries.

The rider, a 28-year-old man from Helston, sustained serious head, leg and arm injuries in the incident, and had to be airlifted to Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske.

He was later transferred to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, where he remains in a critical condition.

Police are now appealing for witnesses, and would like to hear from anyone who saw the vehicles prior to the accident.

Emergency services were called to the scene, on the B3297, at 7.20pm on Saturday, to reports of a crash involving three vehicles at Farms Common.

A Suzuki 600cc motorcycle, a VW Transporter van and a Chevrolet Spark were all involved, and the road was closed for six-and-a-half hours while a forensic examination of the scene took place.
