This year's Helston Harvest Fair carnival attracted rave reviews from spectators over the quality and variety of entries.

There was a good mix of floats and walkers, with many imaginative themes. These ranged from a circus float from the Central Methodist Church in Helston to a look back at 'Yesterday's Farming' from the residents of Beacon Park, who joined with some regulars of the Blue Anchor to enter.

Little Zach and Millie Harris were towed along in a trailer decked out to look like the Mad Hatter's Tea Party from Alice in Wonderland, complete with picnic bench and plastic tea set, while youngsters from the Lizard Child Trust joined with nursery staff to stage 'When Dinosaurs Roamed Helston.'

This year's carnival was sponsored by Flambards, with the theme park's mascot Ferdi taking part in the parade.

Entrants gathered at Helston Tesco for judging, before processing through the town, accompanied by a series of vintage vehicles, to the delight of spectators waiting on the pavements.
