Ever fancied dressing up as a giant fox and appearing in countless selfies on a daily basis? Flambards in Helston could have your dream job.

The theme park is holding a recruitment day next week as it prepares to reopen in late March.

Among the more unusual vacancies managers hope to fill is a new recruit for the parks' famous costumed character, Ferdi the Fox.

Flambards' legendary furry friend has become something of a celebrity over the years, delighting countless child and appearing in thousands of selfies, Instagram pictures and Facebook posts.

Park general manager Richard Smith said: "Ferdi plays a vital role at Flambards and it’s crucial we get the right person for the job.

"Ferdi’s main tasks include featuring in selfies, meeting and greeting younger visitors and generally overseeing the enjoyment of all our guests to Flambards. However, it’s a demanding job and we need someone pretty special who’s willing to take on the challenge."

The park is looking to sign up around 80 new members of staff, ranging from customer service hosts to catering assistants and ride operators.

A recruitment day will be held on Thursday, March 1 between 10am and 2pm, in conjunction with Helston Job Centre.

Work is expected to begin around the middle of next month for staff training, ahead of the park fully reopening to visitors on March 24.
