AN unusual opportunity to improve quality of sleep is being offered this week in the form of kayak rides on the Helford River.
As part of the Groundwork programme being run out of CAST in Helston, artist Adam Chodzko will be bringing his wooden kayak Ghost to the area to make voyages on the Helford River and Gillan Creek.
Ghost is both a vessel and a sculptural object - 22 feet long and made of hundreds of strips of different hardwoods. It carries a single passenger, who travels in a semi-reclining position, lulled by the gentle lapping of the waters. The voyage encourages a dreaming state, between waking and sleeping.
CAST is now inviting people with sleep difficulties to take part in a voyage, each one lasting about an hour. To apply for a passage in Ghost email tVickie@c-a-s-t.org.uk, explaining why you are interested in taking part.
