Preparations are well in hand for this year’s Helston Fatstock Show, due to take place at Franchis Farm, near Helston, on Monday, November 17.
The traditional event moved from the town’s former cattle market to Franchis in 2006 and organisers say they are indebted to owner Bob Cowell for hosting the show once again.
Sheep classes, successfully introduced for the first time last year, are again included in the programme, along with cattle, farm produce and domestic entries.
A new addition for this year – and one that is certain to attract plenty of interest – is a Victoria sponge class for men, who will no doubt be vying to out-cook the ladies.
Showing gets under way at Franchis, off the Redruth road, at 11am, with the domestic section open to the public from lunchtime and the prizegiving due to take place at 2pm.
