Breage post office struck by lightning

The couple who run Breage post office are facing a big clean-up job after their house was struck by lighting in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Roy and Julia Treloar were woken at 4.45am after the lightning hit, destroying everything electrical and blowing the plaster off the walls in their living room.

Despite having no electricity, they are still running the post office as best as they can.

Roy said: “The lightning has destroyed the shop floor and none of our computers are working.

“Our front room is lined with aluminium and it has blown the plaster all over the room.”

Roy and Julia have now borrowed electricity from their next door neighbours to keep their fridge and freezer running and their phone line is back working.

They are now waiting for engineers from various companies to slowly get them back moving again.

As Roy's computer is not working following the storm, he sent us the picture by SMS, you can do the same by texting your picture and writing PKNEWS to 80360.
